Create: 4 C's to Making 2025 Your Best Year Yet for Growth, Goals, and Quality of Life

I am writing this for the parents, when you understand and embrace how the brain works, you can then help your children in powerful ways!

We have 5 days left of 2024. Many people are thinking about 2025 and the things they would like to do. The goals they would like to accomplish and the healthier version of themself they would like to be. Gyms are about to fill up with people trying to fulfill a New Year's Resolution. Within the month of January most people will be back to their old habits and will have forgotten about their New Year's Resolutions. 

This is because Will Power is a useupable resource. When you first start a new habit there is the exhilaration of "I'm doing this!". If you are working with a group on your new goals there might even be a sense of hype. However, when the first push of excitement and will power wear off automations of the brain will kick in and you will be right back in your old habits. The simple science behind why so many people fail to implement the new habits they want to implement or fail to accomplish the goals they once set out for is simple - 1) the brain sees change as "unsafe", 2) the brain triggers automations - which will win over will power ever time- to keep you "safe" when it feels your safety is threatened, 3) this keeps you safe - which is stuck right where you are. The only way to out work your automations is to change your brain and create new pathways that align with the new habits you want.

The cool thing is Neuro Science has now shown us so many shortcuts to rewiring our brains so we can have automations to the new habits we want. We can also rewire our brain to help us find solutions that will get us closer to our goals and condense the time it takes to get to where we are trying to get!

On here we will talk about 4 C's that will help you start shifting your brain pathways and take a step towards approaching the "new year, new me" from a brain based (results focused) method!

The first C is CREATE.

1. Focus on the life you want to create by the new habits you are seeking to implement. You will create extra momentum to forming new brain pathways when you start telling your brain exactly where you are heading! 

2. Focus on the priorities you would like to have this new year. When you add this step #2 to step #1 above you can start forming more pathways that will form into automations by getting clear about your priorities and creating a vision for your brain that has those priorities clearly stated. (This also starts helping your reticular activating system start coming up with solutions).

3. Focus on the schedule you want to create. That's right, this focus on what you are creating is DETAILED! So detailed that you are even going to let your brain know the schedule you would like to work towards having.

The brain LOVES clarity. When we give the brain the clarity it wants, we can propel ourselves forward in the brain rewiring process.

4. Focus on the person you want to become. Spend more time focusing on the kind of person you want to be versus the stuff you want to achieve. Create clarity for your brain about who you want to become. When you become the person you aspire to be, goals will start getting accomplished on autopilot!!
