Living By Choice vs. Living by Chance (part 2) - Neuro Tip

Dec 04, 2024

A powerful way to help a teenager develop confidence, be more positive, enjoy life more, and be more focused on positive goals is to guide them into automating living by CHOICE instead of living by CHANCE.

Living by choice vs living by chance is a concept that many adults still struggle with. The awesome thing is anyone can train their brain to automate living by choice no matter what their current default is right now. And in teens it's even easier to switch because their patterns aren't as hard set as they are in adults.

Living by choice involves thinking about the results you want (in friendships, school, career and life) and then figuring out the steps you get to be taking to get you closer.

Living by choice is NOT controlling everything.

At any point when someone is living by choice there is room to shift and make different choices. At many points there will also be outside forces that impact an individual's life. However, when an individual has chosen to live by choice they are prepared to handle those challenges and setbacks instead of getting thrown around and taken out of the game.

Living by choice teaches teens to think positively. It teaches them that just because something isn't a certain way right now doesn't mean it must stay that way. It teaches teens to think fluidly and truly believe they can grow and develop. It teaches them to realize in one year they could be a totally different person and have new and better skills than right now. It teaches them to think long term and be willing to put in the unseen work with motivation and commitment because they are focused on the end goal, not the praise of others.
