Living By Choice vs. Living by Chance (part 3)
Dec 05, 2024The average person complains about 15 to 30 times a day. However, complaining is bad for mental and physical health. Complaining also stunts an individual from reaching their full potential. A sister to complaining is excuses. Excuses aren't an exact out right complaint, but they are a reason for why someone isn't "better" or as "perfect" or why they really would have been "better than you" if something or someone else had aligned more.
Complaining and excuses get a person NO WHERE but slowed down and stuck.
In our parkour classes we encourage students to take responsibility for the things they can control. We encourage students to take responsibility for areas they would like to improve in and stop focusing on the things out of their control. This focus shift helps students progress faster. This focus shift also helps students use less excuses and complain less in parkour and then they take that mindset into life. This also builds humility, grit, and motivation from within (verses motivation based on outside rewards).
